After being featured in the “Leaks and Rumors” section of almost every tech-blog these past few weeks, the Huawei Honor 7 smartphone has finally been unveiled, officially. There will be three variants of the phone, available for purchase starting July 7th in China. The variants differ only in connectivity options (LTE support) and internal storage, with rest of the specifications remaining identical.
Featuring a stylish aluminium alloy exterior, the Honor 7 comes with a 5.2-inch Full HD display (1920 x 1080px resolution) giving a sharp pixel density of approximately 423ppi. It is powered by Huawei’s own 64-bit HiSilicon Kirin 935 chipset (four Cortex-A53 cores at 2.2GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores at 1.5GHz) arranged in the big.LITTLE configuration, with ARM’s Mali-T628 GPU for graphical performance.

Other specifications include 3GB of RAM, 16GB/64GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card) and a 3,100 mAh battery with support for quick charging (full charge in 1 hour 25 minutes, 50% charge in 30 minutes).
Also part of the package is a 20MP primary camera (f/2.0 aperture, Sony IMX230 sensor) with “Phase Detection Auto Focus” technology and dual tone, dual LED flash. On the front is an 8MP snapper with a wide-angle lens for your perfect selfies. Beneath the primary camera at the back is also a touch fingerprint sensor.
Connectivity options include NFC, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, A-GPS, GSM, WCDMA and LTE. The phone will urn on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box with Huawei’s Emotion UI v3.1 skin on top. Measuring 143.2 x 71.9 x 8.5mm in dimensions and weighing 157g, the Honor 7 will be available in three variants, each being available in Grey, Gold and Silver color options.
The first and most affordable variant of the Honor 7 will ship with 3G support (no LTE) and 16GB of internal storage, retailing for 1,999 Yuan (approximately $323 or Rs. 20,575). The very same device with 4G LTE connectivity will be available for 2,199 Yuan (approximately $355 or Rs. 22,600). The third variant will come with 4G LTE support and 64GB of internal storage and has been priced at 2,499 Yuan (approximately $403 or Rs. 25,700).
