HTC has left legions of fans disappointed this year. A not so impressive debut of the HTC One M9 has seen the Taiwanese company’s profits erode faster than ever before. Lo and behold! Amidst all the post-mortem of recent debacles comes news of another premium HTC smartphone getting ready to launch in July this year.
Serial leakster @upleaks has let known that HTC is readying yet another high-end smartphone – the HTC One ME9 (Hima_Ace) The phone will come equipped with a 5.2-inch WQHD display(2560 x 1440px resolution) and will supposedly be powered by a 64-bit, True Octa-core MediaTek MT6795 processor clocked at 2.2GHz. Accompanying it will be 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
Other notable specifications include a 20MP primary camera (Toshiba T4KA7), a 4MP UltraPixel Selfie Camera, signature HTC Boomsound Audio and a fingerprint scanner. The phone is expected to run on Android 5.0 Lollipop, with HTC’s Sense 7 skin on top.
According to the leak, the phone will not be launched in the United States, Europe or the Middle East but instead shall have a limited release in Asian markets like India, Hong Kong and Taiwan. It is expected to be priced around 3500 Chinese RMB (approximately $565 or Rs. 36,000) and will be available in Classic Rose Gold, Gold Sepia and Meteor Gray color options.
While the specifications of this rumored device aren’t any surprising (given that it is supposed to be one of HTC’s premium products) I personally doubt it will be priced so low, going by HTC’s standards. In any case, readers are advised that the above information along with any other details is to be treated only as a rumor until any official announcement is made by the parties involved, primarily HTC.
